Í Fljótsdalshreppi er ekki leik- og grunnskóli, en börn sveitarfélagsins sækja menntun á Fljótsdalshérað.
Þar eru reknir þrí grunnskólar og leikskólar.
Leiksólarnir eru Tjarnarskógur á Egilsstöðum, Hádegishöfði í Fellabæ og svo er starfandi leikskóladeild í Brúarásskóla.
Grunnskólarnir eru Egilsstaðaskóli, Fellaskóli og Brúarásskóli.
